I am giving the second star for the beautiful interior and general concept of the restaurant.

I REALLY wanted to like the Local, but after this, my third try, I will not be back. Each time there has been a long wait at the counter with few to no customers ahead of me. The most disappointing aspect though, is the food. Generally speaking, it is well over priced for the quality. Everything that I have tried has been very bland. I watched a lunch entree sit under a heat lamp for over 12 minutes before being served to me. As a result, it was dry and chewy. A chicken sandwich, a burger, and a bacon, egg, and cheese; nothing has been close to a good value. The best dish I have had was the sliced bananas and strawberries.

If I had been served a chewy, overcooked bacon sandwich, topped with a greasy pile cheese and egg for $3, ok. At $8.75..it needs to hit the mark.
