My experience with Less Accounting was beyond poor. I was charged more than $1,000 to bring our books current. I was told by Donnie Cooper that they had experience with our online mostly income streams and that they could handle our bookkeeping. I went into detail our issues with quickbooks and using that software. He told me multiple times that they could handle the system.

They didn't.

My books are more a mess now than they were when I first contracted with Less Accounting; and their system is significantly harder to use. For one, they communicate via basecamp - I program I dont use and told them I dont use. That's the first issue, though they said it wouldn't be an issue.

Also, donnie sells the product and then hands it off to someone else so donnie is no longer the person who can answer questions on the account. So if you have questions it must go over email and then he reaches out to a bookkeeper who then gets back to you ONLY via email, and ONLY after several days.

They made me sign up for several third party accounts with organizations that log into my systems and bank accounts and send info to less accounting systems. But those third party sites work intermittently and passwords need to be reset often. Which means less accounting doesnt get what they need unless I go in and make sure those are up to date and, unfortunately, there is no email or warning letting me know they need to be updated.

Finally, the accounting system used by Less Accounting does not intuitively mark transactions, nor was I ever contacted by Less Accounting or its bookkeepers to go over categories in the transactions which they asked me to manage.

Less Accounting imports information from reports and doesn't actually do anything with it. There were miscategorizations that no human being would possibly put onto transactions.

As far as I can tell, nothing about Less Accounting is what it seems - not the staff, the system, or the service.

If you are a small business owner or entrepreneur that actually values your time and hard-earned money stay away from this sham of a company that purports to be a bookkeeping service.
